Kairui presented on “Heterogeneous Signaling Behavior within Osteocyte Networks Exposed to Flow Induced Mechanical Stimuli”

Courtney’s job responsibilities include evaluating medical equipment, managing the medical equipment maintenance program, and coordinating new medical technology implementations that improve the care of the Veterans.

The title of her thesis was, “A computational model for calcium signaling in osteocyte cell cultures under mechanical stimulation”

This technology will enable mechanomic characterization of individual cell phenotype from heterogeneous bulk cell preparations, on the basis of their response to physical and biochemical stimuli and may enable more accurate prospective prediction of cellular function. The proposed research aligns with the NIH’s mission to develop innovative technologies for biomedical research.

Zheng Xiong, who recently graduated with a Doctorate from our lab, will be working as a Laser Processing Engineer at Corning. His focus will be precision machining of Corning’s gorilla glass using ultrafast lasers for a range of consumer electronic applications.
