In collaboration with Dr. Herberg from SUNY Upstate, our lab has been awarded a new NIH R21 grant from the National Institute of Eye (NIE).

This grant entitled, “TM/SC-interface-on-a-chip for mechanistic studies of outflow regulation”. This grant will design and exploit a novel 3D outflow tissue platform that models the form and function of the complex draining interfaces found in the human eye. If successful, this platform can be potentially used to accurately screen drugs for Age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
