The title of this project is: Role of Calcium Signaling by 3D Osteocyte Networks in Mechanoadaptive Response of the Bone Multicellular Unit – ONLY possible because of key contributions from Anna and Arun – Thank you guys!

This grant entitled, “TM/SC-interface-on-a-chip for mechanistic studies of outflow regulation”. This grant will design and exploit a novel 3D outflow tissue platform that models the form and function of the complex draining interfaces found in the human eye. If successful, this platform can be potentially used to accurately screen drugs for Age-related macular degeneration (AMD). 

This summer internship involves 3D printing human lung scaffolds that are vascularized with stem cells to create transplantable human lungs. Currently, their scaffolds are demonstrating gas exchange in animal models and aim to be cleared for human trials in under 5 years.

After graduating from our group, Stephen was a ORISE Fellow at the FDA for 5 years working on various aspects of bioprinting and characterization of stem cells.

Dr. Kunwar will join PRELLIS BIOLOGICS as a Sr. Optical Engineer. He will work on proprietary 3D printers on their development and associated applications! He has been an integral member of our team! We all wish him the very best as he heads to the Bay Area on this new adventure!
