Their paper has now been accepted in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces. (Impact Factor – 9.2). This excellent work focuses on using femtosecond laser to densify hydrogels at user-defined locations to generate customized volume diffractive gratings.

Bianca finished her Honors Thesis entitled ‘High-temperature 3D Printing of Stretchable and Tough Hydrogel Structures ‘ – this work was performed under the mentorship of Dr. Kunwar! She is now headed to Boston University to pursue her Masters in Robotics and Autonomous Systems with specialization in Soft Robotics & Medical Robotics.

Kairui was selected to receive a summer dissertation fellowship – Only a handful of applicants were selected from a pool of 90 applications!

The funding is provided by the U.S. Air Force Research Lab Summer Faculty Fellowship Program

Ameya will play a key leadership role within the Lab Bioprinting Business Unit in the Healthcare Solutions Group in the execution of key strategic scientific projects.  As a 3D Systems Biomaterials Scientist, he will run key experiments to develop new biomaterials for their bioprinting R&D programs. 

Biance Andrada has been awarded the Bioengineering Founders Award. Maximillian Wilderman has been awarded ECS Alumni Association Service Award Dr. Zheng Xiong has been awarded the Outstanding Graduate Student in Bioengineering Award. He has also been selected as a winner of 2021 All University Doctoral prize – the highest honor that Syracuse University offers to top PhD graduates.
